I support the California-Nevada Maglev Super Train project. If this project could start ground breaking in 2011 and build the routes from Las Vegas to Primm and Anaheim to Ontario, I truly believe the revenues from those open stations will help complete the Maglev project. The DesertXpress just isn't going to work with a route only from Victorville. They now say a future route from Palmdale, California but that isn't even a part of Phase One and it would take 10 years for the DesertXpress Palmdale station to even happen.
The California-Nevada Maglev Train would most likely happen sooner than the DesertXpress.
Many Southern Californians could travel to Barstow, Ontario and the Anaheim Station to board the Maglev. I have traveled to Anaheim many times just by taking the Metrolink trains that start from Lancaster to Los Angeles Union Station and then transfer to the Orange Line to Anaheim.
I would definatly travel to Anaheim to use the CA-NV Maglev Train to Las Vegas.
Just think of the possibility. No more driving to and from Las Vegas. No more buses. No more airlines and crowded airports to deal with. Las Vegas could be just a comfortable 80 minute Super Train ride away. From Barstow, it will only take 45 minutes.

"...maglev technology is not suitable for long distances..." Really?

Don't know about you, but I do not consider Tokyo-to-Osaka, 438 km (272 miles) as a short-distance route.
